Our Initiatives

Sanmat facilitated implementation of the Social Forestry  project under MNREGA in 1600 gram panchayats of the  state, in collaboration with the Bihar Rural Development  Society (BRLS), Department of Rural Development, Govt of  Bihar.  Sanmat’s innovative approach to the project helped  generate livelihood opportunities for the local people in the form of nursery raising, fence preparation etc. This approach  has been adopted by different districts in the state.

HELPED GENERATE LIVELIHOOD OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LOCALS

5 MILLION SAPLINGS PLANTED

Sanmat is an empanelled agency with the National Green Highway Mission, Government of  India for undertaking plantation and maintenance activities along the highways.

HELPED IN PLANTATIONS OVER 200KM STRETCH

Sanmat has supported the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission,  Department of SC & ST Welfare, Government of Bihar in setting up 18 Community Radio Stations.

HELPED SET UP 18 COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONS

The mobile school or Chalta Firta Gyan Kendra was initiated to reach out to children who were out of school or had dropped out. The program is presently running in Nawada, Bihar, in six centers.

PROVIDE EDUCATION IN AN INTERACTIVE MEANINGFUL WAY

This is a 5-step process in which we facilitate the door-step learning and then further enrollment into the school:

Sanmat is an empanelled organization with the Urban Development & Housing
Department, Government of Jharkhand for setting up and management of two
urban shelter homes under DAY-NULM Programme in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Sanmat has extensive experience of conducting large scale research studies. We  have also conducted various baseline and needs assessment studies for our own  programs and as external evaluators.
– Contributed to the SECC-2011 by surveying 57,00,000 individuals in Patna, Bihar & employed nearly 1200 enumerators.
– Understanding the extent of penetration of GOI’s Right to Education scheme in Bihar &  UP and preparing a database of aspiring students which covered 23,000 adolescents.

– Mapping of the skill gap by assessing the industry demand and existing skill sets of people in Jharkhand and UP. These are carried out to plan the skill development  programs. Nearly, 6000 youth have been interviewed so far.

– Supported the Department of Planning and Development, Government of Bihar in the assessment of the status of minors in the reformation homes in 6 districts of Bihar.

– Conducted assessment survey with 1500 lac workers in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

– Conducted baseline study for the Transparency International, for their Pahal initiative
